2010贺岁片 之 本地姜特辣 --

woohoo! 大日子

本地中文电影能有如此水准，超导演真的功不可没！
我想说的是，贺岁电影很难拍，喜剧很难拍，第一次操刀就有这样的水准，真的 -- 赞！

剧本方面需要改进，因为其实发挥的空间还有，大概是点到即止，或者看着时限吧。不过，倒是小细节方面照顾得很好，搞笑元素点中位置，加分和讨喜的地方就在那些点上。

演员的话，我个人最喜欢的是‘阿玉’。原来小妮子不但嗓子好，演技也不差，真的很不错。男生来说，我选颜江瀚。只能说，他又一次证明出自己的多才多艺了。其他的角色，每个人都担得不错，大家的角色也很对位，好！还有，原来关师傅也很会演呢！

至于其他技术性的方面，也挺好的。
就是配乐嘛，我觉得。。。只能说，不合我的胃口咯。

庚寅年的头一出贺岁电影，我看得很过瘾；所以大家也多多捧场，新年气氛自然气势高昂！

my first concert of the year...

and it was fabulous!!!

thanks for ONEfm, i got another free admission ticket to watch Penny Tai's first ever concert in Malaysia. and it was great.

i did the phone interview with her to kinda like promote her sales of tickets on the radio. and after i watched it, i think she was way too humble.

her show was sincere and full of surprises. flow of the plan was nicely designed. though the sound system wasn't that good and the stage was not like some high-end/ high-tech stage, she took her stage well. she was real.

its been a decade since she first introduced her debut album, and it feels like she has never change but improved/grew in a lot of aspects. she's still the Penny that holds on to her passion tightly. you don't listen to that, you feel it from actions she has taken.

and she is simply gorgeous!


and this is after twice encore... everyone was still reluctant to leave!!!
(p/s someone missed it by visiting the toilet =.=III)

something i'd like to taste again wwhen the sunny hot weather ends~

Biloc Whiskey -- probably i wasn't too conscious to pick up the right name from wsm, but i can still remember the palate. its rather different from the usual Highlander and whatnot, kinda like the taste of it.

Port Ellen Distillery -- i'm not sure if this is one of the best from Islay, but this definitely suits my palate. thanks to ltc.

some movies i watched lately

Heiran

it's an Iranian film, still showing in GSC cinemas International screenings. as i have very shallow knowledge in Iranian films, i think, if i'm not mistaken, this is my first non-Majid Majidi Iranian film.

i must admit that i don't quite feel for the plot. it's a simple story that tells beyond visual, but i just can't seem to drown into it. i wonder if its because of my mood of the day. though so, i agree to Raz that the colour of the film is beautiful. but i don't get to analyze the film language like he did lah.

anyway, i would still suggest that its worth watching because i think sometimes we should keep eyes & hearts open for a lot of cultural purposes events!

Did you heard about the Morgans?

i'm definitely not a fan of SJP, but i do like Hugh Grant.

don't get me wrong. it was just a day where you die-die want to watch a movie, and u r left with choices worse than this and it happens to be the best timing show also.

still, watch it if not in the cinema also. its entertaining. some laughs lah.

Ponyo

of course i watched DVD. its consider one of the less popular Studio Gibli piece?

its a weird plot but i enjoyed it very much. but unlike his style, this story is simple and don't have too many hidden meanings. not sure if i missed out though. it is also very colourful and things happening in the kids world are always the best things.

i like it. go watch it.

great movies to end 2009, or to start 2010

Princess & the Frog

Not only that Disney has not been making 2D cartoons for a long long time, it came back with a good piece!

The plot hasn't astray much from the original one yet it includes more interesting elements, such as the jazz trumpet alligator-player. The prince is not all that good and nice, but still charming in a way. Those are some nice bits. It also makes me very much want to visit New Orleans!

I may be bias as I'm always a big fan of cartoons, but in case you just want to relax your mind in the cinema, this is definitely THE choice!

Bodyguards and the Assassins 十月围城

I'm always impressed by storyline like this, it catches me, just like Zhang Yi-mou's Hero. It may not tell the history, but i think its okay... after all, its a film, not a documentary. I'm not sure how much it sticks to the historical event but the story moves me.

Personally, I really like the lead, 王学圻, who acts as the needle & thread that sews the whole cloth. His acting is very persuasive. And this time around, I see Donnie Yen acting, not only fighting, he improves a lot.

I also like the music & the music effect of this film.

Other than that, for the casts, for the violent scenes that usually entertain most of the audience, it definitely worth a ticket for the price of RM 12.

Avatar (3D)

James Cameron really made it!

The plot is lame but the outcome of the effort for the CG is awesome. It doesn't matter how long it took, as long as the film is produced.

It takes you from the start till the end, giving you the details. Though you can easily guess the flow, you still hold on to enjoy the details that it offers. Its full of imagination.

2 and a half hour for Malaysia but i heard its 3 hours full. DVD version is the choice. Definitely rated as one of the decade's classic.

Sherlock Holmes

Funny. Witty. Handsome.

The lines are funny. The ideas are witty. Jude Law & Robert Downey Jr. are handsome!

Its not the new wave type of movie, not very much of originality in a lot of aspects, but... definitely entertaining. Its good to watch as a whole!

Thirst 박쥐

From the director of Old Boy, Park Chan-wook scores another nice piece! (The feeling is similar to watching Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds.)

I love the plot a lot as its really out of the box. Something literature but not very much. Plus some personal philosophies underlying. Own crap but nicely packaged to sell! At least, I bought!

Definitely not another vampire movie.

Muallaf

Finally, I watched it. Its been soooooooo long.
And of course, I like it, very much.

For almost half of the show, tears running down from my cheeks, incontrollably... The lines completed the story. Touching might be a rather lame word, but thats exactly how I feel.

Its so Yasmin; the way she tells story through her eyes via her films.
Its so simple yet meaningful.
Its so humble yet 'big'.

Its Love & Acceptance, the greatest to achieve.
How else can I tell or write to make you step into the cinema and watch it before its too late? Alright, not being exaggerating, but definitely a very good movie to start your 2010 with.

新歲

无论你喜欢与否，赞成或反对；新的一年洋洋洒洒地到了。

每一年我总会习惯性地检讨过去一年的自己。今年当然也不例外。

工作上，比起去年，发展空间比较大，更多机会体验新的尝试，看见自己能力上的进步，无疑是开心的。同时，也唤醒了心中的野心，或想在今年落实一点什么。视觉上或听觉上的工作都好，今年一定要有更多的突破，那是给自己定下的笼统期许。有些计划需要时间琢磨；只要坚持下来，一定能实现。就算没能成功，至少不会有遗憾。

生活上，过去一年被磨了好些日子，觉得自己沉了。希望不是错觉或自己给自己过高的评价。要是能够更沉稳，EQ再高一点，那么做起任何事情来都一定会更好。当然，看清楚了更多，对于自己的方向也更确定。有些时候，不留守到最后就不会知道结局。有些事情，如果没有发生就不知道其中人事物的重要性。

情绪上，还是抱持纵容姿态。要是开心，我就开怀大笑；要是伤心，我就尽情流泪。我要感受我的感受。不过，这些日子，我总算学会了一些什么，包括体谅和顾及他人的感受。所以，大前提下，我还是会尽量以不影响其他人为标准。

活了25个年头，感恩于一路走过的经历，享受于一路走来的过程。
2010年，每踏出的一步都还是个未知数。但我会继续抱着感恩和享受的心情去看待和感受一切。

各位，过去的日子，承蒙关照；新的一年，也请大家多多关照！
