its been so long after i watched a movie that actually makes me feel... calm. someone out there are leading a worse life, guess that's why.

from the beginning, right when Jude Law opens the movie, i have a strong feeling of WKW 's earlier creation, Chungking Express. Jude Law reminds me of Faye Wong, and all the shots remind me of Takeshi, Tony Leung, Lin Qing Xia... and even the Indians in Chungking building.

i always like blueberry, the fruit and the tart, and yes, the jam. but those in the movie, the blueberry pies, don't quite look inviting... hahah... anyway...

i fell in love with Rachael Weisz when she told her story to Norah Jones, and how tears ran down from her cheek gradually, uncontrollably... then she stomped into the cafe with 800 dollars and some checks in her purse... she is simply gorgeous. from the confession scene, i see someone guilty who feels deeply sorry about the guilt she committed, and of course, regrets, full of regrets. but u must not deny that it is a relief, eventually.

WKW also uses this old trick for Jude Law to kiss Norah Jones, which is when she is asleep, with some ice-cream stain on her mouth. Norah Jones has really nice pouchy lips, i think that's one of the main reasons she was selected for the role? ;)
and then i thought, my kiss has left me for long...

ELECTION FEVER...(from a forwarded email)

The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course.

In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and dressed in the finest batik there is.

They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.

They play a friendly game of golf and then indulge themselves on lobsters, caviar and the most expensive food there is.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes.

They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.

"Now it' s time to visit heaven." So, 24 hours pass with the Yang Berhormat joining a group of contented souls moving from

cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing.

They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St.Peter returns.

"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."

The Yang Berhormat reflects for a minute, then he answers:

"Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think Ai yam better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.

He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder.

"I don't understand," stammers the Yang Berhormat.

"Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time.

Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"

The devil looks at him, smiles and says,

"Yesterday we were campaigning."

"Today you voted."

... ...

yesterday, an hour plus before the concert starts, i was stuck in a car park. the car window of the driver's seat is disabled from its control button. like any other days, i just pressed it, window went down, i paid for the parking and then it happened.

i thought it was just a small matter, which it is. so i got my car a space, parked nicely and tried to work on closing the window.

it was hard. i just don't have the strength but i kept pulling the window with my hands , because i thought it must be some sort of wrong alignment (cut the power window wiring part). it moved a bit and stuck again. it was half way, i couldn't leave my car, it was getting dark, no one passed by.

all i need was another pair of hands to help me, either pull the window or press the button.

so i called. but who? the first i called was my colleague who went concert with me. but i just failed to tell her my location. so i said, okay, i'd try again.

at that moment, i felt so alone.
dark emerging, helpless, frustration... to be frank, my negativity lately affected also...

then i called another friend, who i think i can count on. and so she is. she came to look for me.

there are several parking blocks and i couldn't tell which one i was in, and we were not familiar with that place. i didn't have a parking ticket. so, i just kept on trying.

suddenly, i made it! i am not sure what force was that, but i made it, and i was very glad.

then the next minute, i got her call, asking me again for my bearing, then i saw her.

i am even more glad that she actually came.

the result is never an issue when the effort means more than everything.

yet, i'm still glad that i made it with my bare hands.
well, if you think i over reacted, i thought so. its never really the incident happening that is affecting, but it triggers.

帅！拽！

演唱会要的视觉享受，舞台魅力和歌声演绎都有了，还有一份他的真情流露，他的顽皮。

一个集合了自己喜欢的元素的演唱会，难得啊。

整场演唱会都很精彩，唯独是冷场部份太多。演唱会的编排很有心思，尤其喜欢他的造型和头发，造型师应记一功！

从开场到结束的几次烟花效果，直逼在场者欢呼到极点；不过，尖叫还是全留给周董。

这次他跳了不少舞，证明了他不是一成不变。还有，他演唱邓丽君的歌时，我发现，有时候，你喜欢一个人就是那个人的魅力在作祟，跟他做什么，好像没有直接关系；他所做的，也许只是最表面的吸引。

他的自恋，耍帅，爱美都变成了他的标签。受不了，的确！不过还是‘受‘。哈！

演唱会要数瑕疵的话，就是音效不好，不知道是技术问题还是场地问题。

昨晚月还是很圆，我们4个女生背对着吉隆坡塔和双峰塔看着如此精湛的演出，却在我往右一看的时候，读着STADIUM MERDEKA这两个字，心里不禁有些唏嘘，今天毕竟是提名日啊。

Synopsis :
The British Council is looking for that outstanding individual making ripples in the Malaysian music industry to send to the UK and take part in an international competition with the ultimate goal of being selected as the International Young Music Entrepreneur (IYME).

Open to music entrepreneurs aged between 25 and 35, IYME recognises extraordinary achievement and potential of young creative entrepreneurs working in the music industry.

The national winner will travel to the UK in June 2008 to take part in a 14-day tour of the UK music industry. This will include visits, meetings, and gigs in London and Manchester, London Calling trade exhibition, and a showcasing event to promote their national music scene.

The IYME 2008 winner will be announced at an awards ceremony during the UK visit. The prize will consist of a financial award of £7,500, which will be linked to the UK and tailored to the winner’s specific needs.

The winner of IYME is decided based upon a presentation made by each candidate to an elite judging panel from the UK music industry.

Candidates must already be active professionally in the local music sector, as defined below:

- Record companies; Artists & Repertoire (A&R); producing, recording, engineering; music licensing, and distribution

- Venue and/or festival programming and management

- Artists management and agents

- Music broadcasting

- Music journalism and publishing

- Music development & management

- Music marketing; public and media relations

- Music retail; online (including digital) and high street outlets


Eligibility

A participant must:

- Be aged between 25 and 35

- Already work in the music sector (as defined above)

- Be entrepreneurial and have shown their ability and innovative approach to the promotion of music in their country, particularly in a commercial context

- Through their character, drive and abilities demonstrate their potential to be a future leader of the sector in their country

- Have a reasonable command of the English language


A panel of judges comprising leading figures in the local music industry will interview short-listed candidates, selected on the strength of their applications, to identify the best Young Music Entrepreneur from Malaysia.

Successful candidates will have a passion for their creative sector; display originality and confidence in their work, and an entrepreneurial drive to succeed in their field; they will be risk-takers and forward-thinking leaders, striving to make a difference in their field and for the local music industry.

Candidates will be judged both on the evidence of their existing entrepreneurial skills and their potential to be an agent of change.

Synopsis : The BMW Shorties returns, with a call for entries to moviemakers of all shapes and sizes for the BMW Malaysia Short Film Contest.

Contest participants may submit an original short film of their own creation, with a running time of no longer than twenty minutes (there is no minimum time requirement).

A total of ten entries will be chosen, from which one Grand Prize Winner will be chosen.

The Grand Prize Winner will receive up to a sum of RM75,000 to fund the making of a short film in the form and manner to be prescribed by BMW Malaysia.

婚姻

婚姻，对我来说是这么的遥远却又靠近。

从小就在父母婚姻关系健康的家庭成长；但是也从小就见识到婚姻除了神圣更是可怕的。的确没有谁在过着幸福的婚姻生活。

朋友结婚了，朋友的婚姻生活出问题了，好像只是在从演上一代的剧情。奇怪。

离婚率很高，结婚率同时不减，你看开了一家又一家的婚纱店就知道。我问已婚朋友，为什么结婚。无论男女都是因为觉得是时候结婚了。什么时候算是时候？每个人的时候都不一样吧。难道经历了一段婚姻和小孩相继出世以后，又是时候离婚了吗？我再次好奇什么时候是时候。答案结果还是，每个人的时候都不一样。

我真的没办法想像如果我有一天真的结婚了；你一定要问我是不是因为是时候了。我希望那个时候，我还知道什么是婚姻，而那个时候到底是什么让我自己大胆地神圣起来了。

Exaggerate but i love it! I always like to watch something that will not happen in my real life.

Violent? In a way... yes. But i guess reading newspapers nowadays is as that too.

I'm a big fan of Stephen Chow, and CNY dedication movies, that's why i was in the cinema after reunion dinner. Nice seats at Cathay Cineplex!

Simple fatherhood love story with a little children's wild imagination. Something different, something new in his collections.

You think the CJ 7 doggie is cute? I think Xu Jiao is the cutest, this girl can really act! Love every bit of her!

- KUNGFU DUNK -

Another must watch movie during this CNY. So that you can enjoy if you are a big fan of Jay Chou; so that you can puke if you think this is like a movie about Jay Chou!

Nothing much, only entertaining in a way.

But I must say, I really like the Art Director's work, good progress ever since his old creations back at the late 90s.

- ATONEMENT -

Keira Knightley is the reason i watch this movie. She melted me with her green dress in Atonement, astonished.

After watching it, I like the story, nice plot, perhaps i should read the book. And i think Briony is the lead, the core of the movie, i enjoy everyone who acted that character in different age range.

So happened that i'm writing a story about turn back time and forgiving... so i feel close to the story.

6 RATS in my family!

hey guys, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

for the year of RAT, i wish u nothing but 心想事成 and 身体健康!

and the most exciting thing that i discovered from my family this year is that we actually have 6 RATS in one family.

new-born baby Wyler at the age of 0;
my cousin James who is 12;
myself turning into 24 at the end of April;
my sister-in-law Cui Ting who is 36;
James's mother Mui at 48;
and my aunt, also Cui Ting's mother-in-law who is 60!

Astro Nextgen Contentpreneur Awards (NCA)

Believed to be the first of its kind award targeted at tertiary students, the Astro Nextgen Contentpreneur Awards's main objective is to recognise and encourage young Malaysians in pursuit of content excellence, in various categories such as short film, documentary, music video, website and animation.

From 9 Jan – 7 Mar 2008, tertiary students can submit their entries based on five Entry Categories including:

1. The Short Content (Television and Mobile) Category
2. The Documentary Category
3. The Music Video Category
4. The Animation Category
5. The Graphics/Web Design Category

From the 5 Entry categories, a total of 11 awards will be presented and these include awards for the following:

In addition to RM10,000 cash prize and a trophy, winners have the opportunity to pitch for a government grant, which in turn will pave the way for young Malaysians to pursue a career in the Communications, Broadcasting and Multimedia industry. With the grant, the winners will be able to produce their own full length multimedia content production.

Participation Details
The Contest is open to students, between 18 – 25 years old, in any discipline who are Malaysian citizens pursuing full time or part-time courses in any local or foreign college or university. The Participant may enter the Contest as an individual or as a team.

Entry Submission
The Contest runs from 9 Jan 2008 until 7 Mar 2008. All entries must be sent to the Organisers on or before 6pm on 7 Mar 2008.

Participants may submit more than one entry in any language spoken in Malaysia provided that the Entries are consistent with the Entry Category and do not exceed the fixed duration for the respective Categories. Entries must be submitted either in a Mini DV or DVD format together with one copy aside from the Master Tape. Other formats will not be accepted.
